Google TV: Watch Movies & TV App Reviews

I love this app and when my android tablet broke I was a little upset because I thought I wasted my money but then got the app on my iPhone and could watch my movies again. Two little things I would change, I’m not sure how to remove movies I don’t want to watch anymore. I also would love to be able to purchase movies in the app.

This app could put an end to me paying for subscription streaming services. Options seemingly endless, and playback quality is fantastic!

I like the service but dont understand not actually being able to rent in the app itself.

I would have given it five stars if it was not for streaming and download quality being subpar. The YouTube app can stream my purchases at a much higher quality but I cannot download them thus I still need this app. I would appreciate a patch for this if possible. Then I’ll give it five stars. Thank you

I especially like when it IDs the actors currently on screen when pausing the show .

You guys looked awesome at first because the app is free, then you expect people to PAY ? Thats just messed up, and the fact that you guys looked super cool then backstabbing them, because they have to pay like fifty five dollars a week??? I Hate the website And horrible loading btw.

It used to be I could watch my offline shows and movies for months with my iPad or iPhone 5s without having to connect to the internet. As I live where internet is intermittent. I have to connect to the internet after only a few episodes. And the worst part is now I have to have internet to use airplay mirror. This used to be a great app. I wish I could get my money back. I will be going to iTunes because when I buy something there isnt all the restrictions like on here.

The ability to start watching on one device and then continue on another no longer works as it does NOT remember where I left off (like before the update) and no longer shows Resume option (like before the update) which means I have to Click back to the show and FF to where I was. Also no longer displays the last show watched/in progress which means more clicking. All of these problems are really annoying. I will no longer be purchasing content from Google Play until its fixed or put back the way it was before. i will just stick with Amazon which does not have this problem.

I luv movies! The only thing that I do not like is that you have to pay for them :( (of course you do)

No Dolby on airplay to Apple TV and HD is poor

We use this regularly to rent or purchase movies. It works seamlessly! The only big problem is having to purchase the films in a browser and not in the app itself. This just interrupts the user experience and is a bit of a hassle. Fix this and you earn the last star! :)

Has anyone else noticed lately that its taking a ridiculously-unusually long time to download movies and shows?

I wanted to buy a newly released movie in Ultra-HD 4K. Was looking for a way to download the movie to iOS devices to watch on the road or stream it to a Samsung 4K UHD TV. It looked like Google was the only site that supported all these and let you buy the movie in 4K format. After purchasing I realized a) Samsung TVs Google Play app doesnt support UHD-4K playback and b) the iOS app (which downloads the regular HD version) doesnt have any way to rewind/fast forward by N seconds (10, 15, 30, or 60) so you can skip things or go back and re-watch them. This seems like its a pretty basic feature in video players nowadays. Im surprised its missing here. Once you pause the app the tracking slider is also very small and coarse-grain. Very hard to just go back or forward a little. A good implementation of this feature is in the Amazon iPad app. Hopefully Google will fix these issues in a subsequent release.

I use this app always on any device without problem better than itunes

All the shows that I bought gets stuck on playback 80% when trying to cast. All other casting apps on my phone works just fine. I have an iPhone7S and very disappointed in this issue. Already tried everything to troubleshoot. No luck!

I set this up on Roku with my wowway email and on mobile it only gives you the choice of gmail. Very disappointed
